Garbage enzyme is a simple method that everyone can make at home, and can benefit from having an organic, multipurposed liquid solution to replace chemical products, as well as to reduce the greenhouse gases effect by turning waste into something useful. The process is similar with wine making process.

The experience will take place in our gardens which follow and apply principles of sustainable agriculture. Traditionally, the villagers always keep medicinal plants in their gardens and fences, or know how to find them in the wild. That happened long before people become more dependent on pharmacies or conventional way of cure. Enjoy these plants as tea is one of local ways to protect health or even to cure.

DIY Used cooking oil recycling – making hand soaps experience 

It is recommended that cooking oil should not be reused more than 2 times. However, pouring them down to the sewage system blocking the system, doing harm for the microbes and other organisms depending on the water stream, and costs money to remove. 

This is the simple way that every family or neighborhood community can do together to turn this oil into hand soaps instead. The soaps can also be used for other purposes. The solution especially plays an important role in a tourism destination like Hoi An where a number of hotels and restaurants serving everyday 

Visitors will:

– Understand why we should not discard used cooking oil directly to the sewage system

– Know how to safely discard this item and recycle it into hand soaps and learn its multi-purposedness

– Experience wash hands with these soaps

– Understand the importance of the host’s project in training local women and youth to do this and help them to earn extra income while protecting the natural environment

Native and Adaptable Plant Nursery

Native and Adaptable Plant Species play an important role in sustainable land management, agriculture and biodiversity that ensure the benefit for local communities and local natural system in a long run. The nursery is an operational and educational space where regenerative strategies and actions are taken place. 

Visitors will:

– Learn about the practical role of some key native and adaptable plant species that grassroots people appreciate and hope to preserve

– Learn how to prepare the soil substrate and start plants from seeds and cuttings

– Learn how to apply these regenerative mindset and actions in their own life

– Understand the importance of the nursery and its activities in empowering local communities in traditional knowledge and skills preservation

Eating is the most frequent act of everyday life for everyone, but the busier life gets, the less chance we can experience the balance in what we eat. In the East, it has become the way of life and skills for most of the tradition practitioners to create a meal that has in itself the balance between materials, tastes, colours, even feelings.
